Born in Dublin in 1973, Oisín McGann started writing and illustrating stories when he was seven, setting himself on a path that would steer him well clear of obtaining a proper job.

After dropping out of college to become a freelance illustrator/artist he worked on the animated series of Zorro.  A spell in advertising made Oisin fearful for his immortal soul and he went freelance again, getting his first books published in 2003.

He now works full-time as a writer and illustrator, having published several books for younger readers, including Ancient Appetites and The Evil Hair-Do.
