NAAS URBAN COUNCIL
TUESDAY.

At the usual fortnightly meeting of the Naas Urban Council, Mr. Wm. Staples presided, and there were present Messers. S. J. Brown, W. Quinn, A. J. Carleton, C. Kilmurry, D. Patterson.

THE MOTOR RACE.
The following letter was read from Mr. C. Dale, hon. secretary to the Automobile Club, addressed from the Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin:-“I am in receipt of your letter of 8th inst. with enclosures. I will bring the matter before the committee in due course, and answer you fully after the matter has been discussed. In the meantime please accept my assurance that the club fully appreciate the valuable aid given it by the Kildare county authorities, and is only too anxious to do all in its power to please everybody, compatible with the public safety and that of the competitors in the coming race.”

Mr. Brown said that it was under consideration whether Naas should be selected as the place where the cars would be weighed before the start and also at the finish.–The Council considered that this, coupled with the letter, was satisfactory.
