Naas will sign Omaha twin in Jesuit university

OMAHA, USA, 14 March 2002: by Brian Byrne & John Glenn. The Naas delegation to Omaha, Nebraska, will take part in a sister city signing ceremony and banquet at 7p.m tomorrow (Friday) evening, at Creighton University.

Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey and Naas Mayor Willie Callaghan will officially connect the two cities by signing the sister cities documents, followed by a question and answer session with the media. The dinner will follow in the ballroom of the Skutt Student Center.

Earlier tomorrow, the delegation from Naas will tour Creighton University and the Department of Microbiology.

The signing ceremony and banquet are supported by Creighton University, the office of Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey as well as the Omaha Sister Cities Association, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Creighton University is an independent, Catholic, comprehensive university operated by the Jesuits, and enrolls more than 6,200 students of diverse faiths and races from across the United States and 65 countries. The student body is taught by 700 full-time faculty members in the Colleges of Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, the Graduate School, University College, and schools of Dentistry, Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, Law, Medicine, Nursing and Summer Sessions.

The University is located in Omaha, Nebraska (pop. 800,000 metro area) on a 92-acre campus adjacent to the downtown business district.
