Book Clubs


Maynooth Community Library hosts the following book clubs:


U3A Book Club meets on the first Monday of the month at 11am.

Stranger Than Fiction Book Club meets on the last Saturday of the month at 2.30pm.

Read With Book Club meets on the first Thursday of the month at 11am.

Reel Good Film Club meets on the last Thursday of the month at 6.45pm.

Maynooth Science Fiction Book/Film Club


Science Fiction is regarded as one of the most influential literary genres of the modern age. Its influence on design, cinema, fashion, music, and gaming is pervasive. The Maynooth Science Fiction Book/Film Club will meet monthly from January to May 2014 to discuss classic science fiction novels and their film adaptations. These will include works by Phillip K. Dick, Stanislaw Lem, Frank Herbert, and Kurt Vonnegut.


How it works:

  1. Join a public library in Kildare
  2. Sign up for the Maynooth Science Fiction Book/Film Club. [See contact details below.]
  3. Pick up the designated novel from Maynooth Community Library
  4. Attend the scheduled film screening at Maynooth Community Library
  5. Let debate ensue!
