Kildare Library and Arts Services currently hold over 400,000 items in the network of library service points around the county. These include:

Newspapers and magazines on a wide range of recreational and educational topics are available throughout our network of branches. Some back issues of magazines are available for lending. See individual branches for details

Community information: Kildare Library & Arts Services serve as an integrated source of local, National and European information including:

  • Information Files on a Range of Subjects
  • Local History Files
  • College Prospectuses
  • Community Notice Boards

  • Many branches have a space for exhibitions or meetings, which is made available to local groups and organisations.

ICT Access : to provide self-learning opportunities and access for all to the Information Society, Kildare Library and Arts Services provide free computer and Internet Access . Some branches also offer self-learning packages for adults and children.

Events : Kildare Library & Arts Services operate as a space and a place for all through it’s buildings and its wide and varied programme of events for adults and children. Events are also advertised via local media, leaflets and posters.

Services for Children & Young People: All branches offer dedicated space, stock, multi-media material and services to children and young people. The stock ranges from books for toddlers to teenage material. Other services include reference material, multimedia stock, educational toys and games, Internet access and various national and local events and programmes.
