- Fir House Exhibition – The Blossom Art Exhibition takes place here annually for the month of July. All of the artists are clients with physical disabilities who attend Firhouse Day Activity Centre (CRC), near Tallaght in Dublin.
- 23rd Blue Grass Festival - Musical event in the Museum celebrating culture.August
- Sunday 18th August ‘The Vikings are Coming’ South Kildare Medieval Festival. Vikings Raiders, Trader, Explorers and Settlers. An Interactive event, exploring history and archaeology. Living History Re-enactment Group, hands on workshops, Digging and recording for young and old. Demonstrations and displays illustrating and exploring aspects of medieval life, including the ever popular armaments, archery display, coin striking and much more. Lecturers, indoor & outdoor Exhibition. Events and exhibitions, showcasing our historical and cultural heritage.

Kildare and the Great War
Two each day relating to the Kildare men who served in the Great War.Starting on Saturday 9th and finishing on Sunday 10th November 2012.(1st stage of 1914 event & Gathering event for 2013)
- Outdoor World War 1 Living history display complete with tents, vehicles, weapons.
- Indoor World War 1 Exhibition.
- Recruitment Office, Military Medal Display, Weapon Display, Soldiers Kit and living quarters.
- Research Your Ancestors: Military historian on site to help trace ancestor
- Lecture Series Relating to the Kildare men who served in the Great War
December:
Christmas event in Athy Heritage Centre-Museum to coincide with Athy’s Christmas Streets & Treats Festival.
Hosting of the Friends of Athy Heritage Centre-Museum Christmas Raffle
