Kildare Showcase At Creative Expo

Kildare Showcase At Creative Expo

Global buyers will this week be visiting Showcase - Ireland's creative expo, to discover the work of 450 of Ireland's most talented makers and designers across home ware, giftware, fashion, jewellery and accessories.

Hosted in the historic surroundings of the Royal Dublin Society Dublin 4, from January 21st- 24th, the show is attended by trade buyers from more than 25 countries keen to find unique products and new suppliers.

2018 will see the establishment of a craft workers forum in Kildare. As its starting point, Local Enterprise Office Kildare has supported 3 creative businesses to take part in the Local Enterprise Showcase:

As a busy mother of five, Sonia Deasy has grown cosmetic brand Pestle & Mortar from Newbridge has grown into a multi-award winning skincare brand with stockists in 6 countries across 3 continents including the USA. Exhibiting at the Local Enterprise Showcase the Pestle & Mortar ethos is "simple solutions for beautiful skin."

Based in Naas, Sean Curran is exhibiting prints of his own artwork in various sizes, mounted and packaged ready to be used as gifts. The images are scenes of Ireland and flora, many of which are also available as greeting cards.

Ciara O'Keeffe is the final Kildare exhibitor at the Local Enterprise Showcase, bringing a unique range of Irish ceramic sculpture that draws inspiration from marrying rich Irish cultural heritage with varied contemporary history. Handcrafted from her studio in Athy, Ciara's ceramic art is stocked in Dublin's Designyard.

Introductions to international buyers are one of LEO Kildare's priorities for its business clients, across all sectors in 2018, as is ensuring Kildare-based businesses who engage in significant export can minimise their exposure to Brexit. In an ever changing and increasingly challenging marketplace, competitive strategy and innovation are integral to business growth and success.

LEO Kildare will host an Economic Outlook Briefing Breakfast in The Osprey Hotel on Thursday 24th January from 8am-11am. Guest speakers will lead an in depth discussion analysing the business-specific impacts posed by Brexit.

LEO Kildare has developed an array of Brexit themed supports for exporting companies. In addition, LEO Kildare welcomes applications for their First Time Exporter's Grant. If you have a plan in place to conduct research into export markets, or if you are in the early stages of implementing an export strategy, then this initiative can assist you. The First Time Exporter’s Grant can part-fund the costs that you will incur in investigating and researching export markets. So, for instance, if you intend to exhibit at a foreign Trade Fair, create marketing material specifically for overseas markets, or incur other costs in pursuing your Export Marketing strategy, we can help with the First Time Exporter's Grant.

If your business is growing in 2018, Local Enterprise Kildare are available to help.
