Rathangan
Amidst the vastness of the Bog of Allen, lies the town
of Rathangan. Once a vital centre for the waterways in the 1790's
and the town owes much of its heritage to the canals.
This small town is set in a beautiful location with a number of scenic
walks in the forest and boglands Why not try some coarse fishing in
the canal where you can expect a good catch.
At Spencer Bridge you can hire a traditional style barge from Canalways
Ireland. There is a choice between a 4 or 6 berth boat which is fitted
to cater for a comfortable holiday.
