Directed by Pat Callaghan, this highly dramatic and timeless tale recounts the efforts of a seedy matchmaker, Thomaseen Sean Rua, and the spiteful, avaricious Mena to sell the hapless and innocent young Sive, to a man old enough to be her grandfather.
Sive, forever passive and silent when confronted with the powerful forces around her, is torn between her duty to meet oppressive social obligations and her love for the faithful hero of the play, Liam.
In a male-dominated world tainted with bitterness and greed, she must make a heart-rending decision that will change everyone's life forever.
