Kildare International Operatic Star to perform in Moore Abbey, Monasterevin.

Celine Byrne, world renowned soprano, is coming back to perform an exclusive Christmas Concert in aid of local charity, Rebuild for Bosnia at Moore Abbey in Monasterevin on  Friday, December 4th.

The international star continues to storm the world stage performing all over Europe with Jose Carreras.  Next year, the Caragh girl will tour Taiwan, Hong Kong and China with the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra and takes the leading role in Le Boheme as Mimi with the Scottish Opera.

She was recently honoured by the Vocal Heritage Society with the Margaret Burke Sheridan medal for excellence presented at Dublin Castle last month.

Celine Byrne is breaking her hectic international schedule to perform at the exclusive venue for the charity.

His Excellence, Veselko Grubisic the Croatian Ambassador to Ireland will be the guest of honour and RTE’s  news anchor, Eileen Dunne will act as Master

of Ceremonies for the evening.

Rebuild for Bosnia director, Patricia Keane, said “she was enormously grateful to the soprano for agreeing to perform and honoured that a star of such caliber continued to support the charity”.

“We are in the final process of finishing a village in Bosnia Herzegovina for the ethnically cleaned war victims with disabilities and profits from the concert will

help us on the final leg of this”, said Ms. Keane.

Tickets are limited to 100.  Last year’s concert was a tremendous event in the very hall where Count John

Mc Cormack lived, composed and performed.

Tickets are available from Rebuild for Bosnia
