John Conway was born in Sligo and now lives and works in Co. Dublin. He holds a BA in Graphic Design from Limerick College of Art & Design (1997) and has been painting consistently since 2003.

He has had a number of solo exhibitions nationally and continues to be involved in group shows and arts festivals. He is currently on residency in Cill Rialaig.

Paul Woods is originally from Dundalk and now lives and works in Co. Kildare. He holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting from Limerick College of Art & Design (1994) and has been painting since the early 90’s.

He has received several grants and awards for his painting and most recently in October 2009 was shortlisted for the Emerging Visual Artist Award 2009 by the Arts Council and Wexford Arts Office. Paul exhibits extensively nationally and internationally in solo and group shows.

Notions of militarism and Ireland’s position as a neutral state in a global context are current topics of interest. The two artists exhibiting paintings in Military Zones have developed their interests in the facets of the military world very differently in both their approach to the chosen medium of paint, scale, situations and the questions raised in these visual interpretations.

Paintings for sale.
