Do not miss, Summer Trad and Folk, back again after last years success at the Moat Theatre, for two nights only on May 27th and 28th.

Kildare based stellar four piece Bunoscionn will awaken audiences both nights with their distinctive blend of folk ballads, range of instruments, vocal harmonies and various musical backgrounds, (reggae, blues, rock, folk) they bring a very unique take on traditional music.

Special guests on Thursday 27th are Tom Tuohy and Sult na Sollán.
Tom’s recent appearance on the Late Late Show with Christy Moore performing his song My Little Honda 50, has launched him further into the media limelight, packing audiences in pubs and venues all over Ireland, he is being hotly tipped as an Irish act to watch this year.

Sult na Sollán play traditional Irish music in the Sallins community centre every Wednesday and all trad musicians are welcome. They will perform a rousing set of jigs reel and polkas guaranteed to get toes tapping.

On Friday 28th Critically acclaimed Ger Loughlin will perform a set of folk songs and traditional ballads, including some from his new album, Nós, which is due for release in the Autumn. He will be joined on the night by multi-instrumentalist Paul Laffan. Also performing is Phil Callery from the Voice Squad who will be joined on stage by children and parents from the Kildare Steiner School.

Two and a half thousand native Irish trees were recently donated to the Kildare Steiner School. Planted by all the parents and children during National tree Week were not only the saplings, but also the dreams and aspirations of the community at this amazing school, to build and complete a forest playground.

All proceeds from both concerts will go to the school to finance this important and special project.
