As part of the Bealtaine Celebrations for the month of may, the Irish
Film Board are touring the Arts Centres of Ireland with the film Night
Train, aimed at the older generation among us, this film explores a relationship
that is emerging between two unlikely suitors……..
The Riverbank Arts centre is delighted to provide the venue for the
screening of this film and it will be showing at 3pm and 8pm with the
added bonus of the presence of the Director John Lynch who will be talking
before and after the film with a chance for the audience to ask questions.
The incomparable John Hurt delivers one of the finest performances of
his illustrious career in this inventive romantic drama with a quirky
sensibility and a charming temperament. Hurt plays the world-weary,
disconsolate and directionless ex-con Poole, just released from prison,
who owes a former gangster boss a ton of money. Brenda Bleyton
also stars in an excellent role in this film.
John Lynch and his writer, Aodhan Madden, do a magnificent job in exploring
the world of an irresponsible, ageing charmer who is growing tired of forever
running away from life.
