ART HISTORY LECTURE SERIES

Following the success of last years programme, Kildare Library and Arts Service presents a series of lectures on art appreciation, which are of general interest to all, but particularly of interest to Leaving Certificate Art students.

Maebh O’Regan, Ph D., lecturer in art history in the National College of Art and Design, presents a series of lectures examining European painting across the centuries, with diverse subjects from the role of the studio in the artist’s work,
17th Century genre painting (particularly the work of Vermeer and Rembrandt) to The Romantic Movement.

Meanwhile, Catriona Fallon, Visual Arts Programmer in Riverbank Arts Centre, examines Contemporary Irish Art.
