Mary Coughlan Live at The Riverbank Friday 19th April 2002 at 8.00 pmMary Coughlan plays a one-night only gig at the Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge on Friday 19th of April next. Mary rose as if from nowhere, a housewife and mother of three who, at 29, began singing publicly. She immediately won a following with her first two albums: Tired and Emotional and Under the Influence. Revered by fans and critics, both in her native Ireland and throughout Europe, with After The Fall, Mary celebrated her triumph over lowpoints in her career and personal life. Underpinning all of this is her instinct for survival and her love of the power of song. Such personal intensity and blues-tinged optimism infuses her singing. As the U.K.s Q Magazine stated, "Mary Coughlan sings with a hard intelligence which binds spells." And, according to Mojo magazine, "she has a voice to kill for." Tickets can be booked in person at the Riverbank, by calling (045) 448333, or by e-mail at boxoffice@riverbank.ie For further information, please contact Catriona Fallon on (045) 448314
