<title><![CDATA[NOTICE OF INTENTION - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE]]></title> 
<description><![CDATA[<p>The Council hereby gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994, that it intends to close to vehicular traffic :</p>
<p><strong>(1)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The roads to the south of Emily Square, to the south and to the west of the Town Hall, including the junction with the R417 Carlow Road and as far as Barrow Quay,</strong></p>
<p><strong>(2)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Barrow Quay between Leinster Street and Emily Square, and the back square,</strong></p>
<p><strong>(3)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The road to the west of Emily Square including the junction</strong> <strong>with Leinster Street, and the road to the south of Emily Square (at the front of the Town Hall)</strong> <strong>including the junction with the R417 Carlow Road,</strong></p>
<p><strong>from 18:00hrs on Friday 1<sup>st</sup> June, 2012 to 22:00hrs on Sunday 3<sup>rd</sup> June, 2012.</strong></p>
<p>The closures are necessary in order to facilitate the holding of the TriAthy triathlon (<a href="http://www.triathy.com/">www.triathy.com</a>) and in the interest of public safety. Emergency vehicle access will be accommodated.</p>
<p>Alternative routes will be put in place in accordance with the concurrent road closure being advertised by Kildare County Council also to facilitate this event.</p>
<p>Any objections/observations should be lodged in writing to the Town Clerk, Athy Town Council, Rathstewart, Athy, Co. Kildare on or before 4.00pm on Tuesday 15<sup>th</sup> May, 2012.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Notice of Adoption of Development Plan 2012 - 2018]]></title> 
<description><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Notice is hereby given under Section 12(12) of the Planning &amp; Development Acts 2000-2010, that Athy Town Council has made a new Town Development Plan at their meeting on 28<sup>th</sup> February 2012.&nbsp; This Plan shall have effect from 26<sup>th</sup> March 2012.</p>

<description><![CDATA[<p>Athy Town Council invites applications for the annual grants scheme which assists Residents Associations for the maintenance and improvement of their estates. Grants are awarded towards expenses incurred on estate management e.g. landscaping, flowerbeds, tree planting and other minor works. Funds&nbsp;for the scheme are limited and the level of grants awarded will be subject to demand.</p>

<description><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Athy's 2012 St. Patrick's Day Parade will be bigger and brighter than ever, with no less than 3 Pipe Bands confirming their participation. &nbsp;The Athy Town Promoters Group are bringing together a large cohort of&nbsp;community, sporting and cultural organisations in the town and surrounding areas to join them to help showcase the best South Kildare has to offer. In addition, many local businesses are taking&nbsp;part in the now annual&nbsp;parade, which attracts thousands of visitors for one of the region's best family events. The parade commences at 3pm from the Athy Business Campus (Kilkenny Road) with route along William Street, Duke Street and ending at top of Leinster Street. <br /><br />The Athy Town Promoters Group was formed in 2009 and is committed to proactively promoting the 'Celebrate Athy' theme through festivals and events in our town.&nbsp; The group is comprised of representatives of Athy Chamber, Shop Athy,&nbsp;Athy Town Council, Athy Tidy Towns, Age Action, Brand Athy and the Athy Heritage Centre-Museum. <title><![CDATA[Notice of Rates having been made]]></title> 
<description><![CDATA[<p>Notice is hereby given that the Municipal Rates have been duly made on the property rateable thereto in the Urban District of Athy. The Rateable Valuation Multiplier for the services year 2012 is &euro;56.29.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Rate Book is now in my custody and may be inspected by any person affected thereby at the Offices of Athy Town Council, Rathstewart, Athy during office hours Monday &ndash; Friday 9 a.m. &ndash; 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. - 4 p.m; Tuesday 10 am -12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. - 4 p.m.) exclusive of &nbsp;Saturday's, Sunday's and Bank Holiday's. The said Rates will be payable from and after the publication of this notice. Under Section 7(1) of the Local Government (Financial Provisions) Act, 1978, any person who is aggrieved at the failure of a rating authority, to make him an allowance under the Act or &nbsp;believes that he is entitled to a different allowance to that made to him may,</p>
<p>within two months of the date of the making of the rate request the rating authority in writing to grant the appropriate allowance. In case the request is not complied with within 28 days, the person may within four months of the date of the making of the rate apply to the District Court to have the appropriate allowance made. The Above rates were made on the <strong>14/02/12</strong>. Any request in respect of them under section 7(1) if the Local Government (Financial Provisions) Act 1978, must therefore be made to the Athy Town Council not later than the <strong>14/04/12</strong>. Any application to the Town Council under the same provision must be made not later than the <strong>14/06/12.</strong></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>TAKE NOTICE </strong>that Athy Town Council as Planning Authority for its administrative area,<strong> </strong>in accordance with section 55 of the Planning and Development Act (as amended) proposes to add the following structures to its Record of Protected Structures:</p>

<p>Particulars of the proposed protected structures may be inspected at the offices of the Planning Authority, Athy Town Council at Rathstewart, Athy from 8<sup>th</sup> February, 2012 to 22<sup>nd</sup> March, 2012 inclusive during normal office hours, except bank holidays.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Any submissions or observations in respect of the proposed additions to the Record of Protected Structures may be made in writing to Mr. B. O&rsquo;Gorman, Town Clerk, Athy Town Council, Rathstewart, Athy, Co. Kildare before 4.00 pm on 22<sup>nd</sup> March, 2012, and they will be taken into consideration before making a decision on the proposed additions.</p>
