While other students were at home enjoying their Easter holidays many of the current sixth standard students from the local primary schools spent a day at St. Brigid's. The students, who intend coming to the school next year were invited to take part in a "fun" induction day where they were given the opportunity to participate in some of the schools activities. The day began with a session in two of the computer rooms where the students got the chance to produce their own Easter card and some even got time to view the Internet. Then it was physical activity for the rest of the day. One group went horseriding in Portlaoise Equestrian Centre while another group had an archery session. Everyone was bach to the school for lunch and the groups swopped over for the next session. The Senior Mentoring group were on hand all day, helping the younger members with their activities and making them feel at home. "Before coming to St. Brigid's it is important that the students feel comfortable with the school surroundings and get to know the other incoming first years The day was a great success and a lot of fun. The success is due in no small part to the fifth year mentoring group" said Mr Daly
