Applications Open for Exercise Rider Training Course

Horse Racing Ireland (HRI), through its Careers and Racing Education (CARE) department, in conjunction with RACE, are currently recruiting for an Exercise Riders Training Course which will commence on Monday 31st July.

Punchestown Commences Phase Two of Major Redevelopment

Punchestown Racecourse has commenced phase two of their €6.2 million racecourse redevelopment, with work on a stunning new grandstand due to be completed by March 2018, in time for next year's Irish National Hunt Festival.

In 2000 the Irish Sports Council proposed to establish a nationwide network of Local Sports Partnerships to create a national structure to co-ordinate and promote the development of sport at local level. As a result of this the Kildare Sports Partnership was established in 2001.

There is now a network of 33 Local Sports Partnerships around Ireland

The Hive is a new youth hub & café for the young people of Kildare town in the renovated old Post Office. Local & national youth organisations as well as pillars of the local community all helped to develop The Hive.

The main line of the Grand Canal is 82 miles length from Dublin to the Shannon of which twenty-five lie within Co. Kildare. There is also the 28 mile Barrow branch from Lowtown in mid-Kildare to Athy and the Naas Branch and Milltown Feeder
