June Mona Newsletter

__________________________July Editorial___________________

With exams over and all schools closed, summer holidays have arrived. Many of us will be away from our homes while we take that well-earned break! Be sure you have arrangements made with a dependable neighbour, to keep a vigilant eye on your home. We should all play our part at being a good neighbour and keep on the look out for any suspicious activities in our area — if you do notice anything suspicious give details immediately to your local garda station in Clane, Kilcock ,Robertstown or Enfield.

Well done to our athletes who have done our area proud at recent sporting events. Our Bog Day on the l5-July in Derrycrib should be fun. Keep Bank Holiday Saturday (August 6th) free for our "Wild West Jamboree in St.Kevin’s, this is usually a great fun night with a chance to win prizes for people who dress up in "Wild West" costumes so come along and support us. We welcome our Chernobyl children who are holidaying with us for the next few weeks. Well done to Timahoe Tir Na Mona on their successful field day and garden visit.

Unfortunately due to printing expenses, we are left with no option but to increase our advertising rates. The new rates are at the back of this newsletter.

Our Millennium event will take place in Donadea Forest Park on Sunday 3rd September (more details at a later date). This event should be special, as Minister McCreevy will officially launch the new walks and improved amenities in the Forest Park.

Well done to our team of young people who have worked enthusiastically on the MONA over the last year and many thanks to all our advertisers whose ongoing support has enabled us to cover the cost of printing the MONA. This advertising enables us to distribute the MONA free of charge to over 850 households. When buying goods and services you might like to consider local businesses first. The MONA newsletter will be on holidays for August, back in September. Enjoy the holidays!

Liam Holton, Chairman.
