April Mona Newsletter

____________April St. Kevins News___________

1)   Senior Football League going reasonably well at the moment with Kevin’s having won 2 and lost 2 to-date. Training going well all leading up to The Championship.

2)  Minor’s have also won 2 and lost 2. Nice to see Brian Dunne making the final county panel.

3) Nice to see St. Kevin’s getting two important Intermediate C/ship fixtures in our field this year. Robertstown v Castlemitchell and the winners to play Clogherinkoe (both in Staplestown).

4)  The launch of our fund-raising project re: building etc. went off very well and with Co. Board Chairman, Jack Wall, Co. Sec. Richie Whelan, Co. Development Officer, John McCarthy, Bernard Durkin, T.D., P.J. Sheridan (Councillor) in attendance together with our special guest "Marian Finnucan" (of RTÉ fame) the night went very well indeed. With the "press" represented by Tommy Callaghan (Leinster Leader) and John Roddy the whole occasion gave a clear picture of the high esteem in which St. Kevin’s are held.

5) Up-coming fund raising events include a Golf-Classic, coming up soon (details later).

6)  The club would like to wish Niall Carew a speedy recovery from his recent operation to clear an injury received whilst hurling on "Patrick’s Day".

7) We would also take this opportunity to wish continued success to our members hurling well for Kildare in the current league campaign, Noel Casey, Niall Carew, Tom Carew and James O Donnell.

8) Sincere thanks to Sean Ward and Paud Fox for all their work of late there-by having everything in readiness for matches etc. Well done lads.

9) Club life membership package, and 25 year membership package still available to all. For further information contact: Pat Cosgrove @ 869500, Alice Casey @ 869242, Pat Cox @ 863687.

10) All paid up club members are reminded that in order to be considered for tickets for any up-coming all ticket games, you must give your name to Club Secretary Alice or Michelle 14 days before each game. We cannot assume you need tickets, you must indicate so yourself.

Yours in Sport,

Joe Fox P.R.O.

Easter Parade

There will be an Easter Parade in Naas this Easter Sunday. The parade this year promises to be a very colourful one with a Beat on the Street afterwards. The parade starts at approx. 12pm and goes from the Dublin road, up through the town and finishes at Fair Green. Remember if you are going be aware of traffic restrictions along the Main Street.

The Country Garden

Best wishes to a local girl Karen Molloy who is now the woman in charge having taken over the restaurant "The Country Garden" situated in Prosperous. The premised will be renamed "Molloys" shortly. We wish Karen all the best, and her venture, every success.
