STAPLESTOWN AREA

The next meeting of the Staplestown area group of Tir Na Mona will be held on Tues 2oth March at 8 p.m. in St. Kevin’s GFC. New members always welcome


CAKE SALE REMINDER

Don’t forget the cake sale in aid of the altar Society takes place in the old school after 11.15 Mass on Sunday 11th March. Your support would be much appreciated.


CAN RECYCLING

The 2 can banks at Staplestown were recently emptied of their contents. A cheque for same is expected shortly. Please continue to deposit your empty cans here and help the environment at the same time.


CONFIRMATION

Congratulations to Craig, Denise, Brigid, Lee, John and LeeAnne form St. Mary’s school, Staplestown who will be making their confirmation on Wednesday 21st March. We hope they all have a great day on such a special occasion.


LIBRARY

The mobile library will be at its usual location in Staplestown on Thurs 8th March, Thurs 22nd March and Thurs 5th April from 11.50 - 12.30 p.m.

SALE OF WORK

A sale of work will take place at the end of April in St. Kevin’s hall in aid of funds needed for bringing a number of children from Chernobyl in Belarussia to our local area this summer. So far 6 children are coming here. If you would like to host a child for three weeks please contact Mary at 869416as soon as possible. You choose the age of the boy or girl you would like to host so that they “fit in” with your family as close as possible. A translator and doctors are always close at hand in case of problems arising.


TALK ON THE THIRD WORLD

On Tues 13th March at 8 p.m.Columban Missionary, Fr. McDonagh , will give a talk on Third World Poverty, Global Warming, Genetic Engineering and the affects on the Environment in Scoil Dara, Kilcock.
