THANK YOU

Anne Smith and Mary Murphy would like to thank everyone who supported their recent table quiz fund raiser. The total amount raised was £305 and this enables them to bring a lady from Chernobyl to Ireland for urgent eye treatment in June. This lady is a mother of two of the children who come to this area each year. This year there is a total (at the moment ) of 14 children from Belarus coming here in June.

After last years fund raising it was agreed that all excess funds be forwarded to the charity “To Russia with Love”. Therefore a cheque for £2,000 was sent last July. On receipt of this cheque a letter of acknowledgement was sent - a copy of which is set out below. This organisation, with the help of Irish doctors and carers, help almost 200 orphaned children .

Letter from “To Russia with Love”

“Dear Mary

I acknowledge with gratitude your kind donation of £2,000for the charity. You have worked extremely hard in fund - raising for us and I wish to thank, through you, your friends and neighbours in Kilmurray.

In the last year life in the orphanage in Khotylyovo has changed dramatically for the better, and this would not have been achieved without the help that you and others like you have given us.

Thank you ,Mary, for your friendship and support,

Yours sincerely,

Noreen Lyons.
