Timahoe Parents
Association would like to thank all those who supported the recent fashion show held in
Dowling's in Prosperous on Thursday 13th May last. A great night was had by
all. A special word of thanks to Bertie Dunne for the use of his premises. Total proceeds
for the night came to £775.
As we are coming closer to the holidays the
Timahoe Parents Association would like to thank all the parents and friends who have put a
lot of work into running the different functions throughout the year. The school is now in
a position to purchase two new computers and other equipment, thanks to you. We look
forward to seeing you all in September.
Merci Beaucoup.
INCINERATOR IN KILCOCK?
In April this year a planning application was submitted to Kildare
County Council for an incinerator at Boycetown, Kilcock. It is proposed that the
incinerator would run 24hrs a day, seven days a week. It would cater for 150,000 tonnes of
hazardous and municipal waste per year, including medical, industrial and agricultural
waste. It is possible that the emissions from the incinerator would be dispersed over the
town and the surrounding countryside. The North Kildare/South Meath Alliance Against the
Incinerator has been formed to oppose the incinerator. They have asked the residents of
Kilcock and surrounding areas to support them. This incinerator will affect us as well as
Kilcock is only a short distance from us. Should we offer our support to the Alliance
Against the Incinerator?
Let us know what you think. Contact Gail at 086-2426659.
Group Water Scheme.
The Trustees of the
Hodgestown Group Water Scheme would like to take this opportunity to thank Councillor.
P.J. Sheridan, for all his help. The process of "Taking in Charge" by Kildare
Co. Co. is a long drawn out one and only for Councillor Sheridan, it would still be going
on. We take this opportunity to wish him the very best, in the up-coming Local Elections
and know that the community will show him their appreciation by supporting him on the day.
Tir na Mona
We wish to extend our sincere thanks to
Michael Fitzpatrick for his support and valuable help with our recent auction. We wish
Michael well in the Council Elections on June 11th and we know Michael will appreciate any
support you can give him in the campaign and on election day.
Congratulations
Warmest congratulations to
Paula and Pat Mangan on the birth of their baby daughter. Young Miss Mangan has already
been declared on honourary member of the Timahoe Womens Group, fondly referred to as
"The Movement".
