TIMAHOE AREA NEWS

A great day was had by all on Easter Monday last at the Easter Egg Hunt organised by the Timahoe Community Council section of Tir Na Mona. There was a fantastic turnout and the Spring sunshine helped to make the day a success for young and old, a real family event.

A special word of thanks is due to the Wilson-Wright family for making the grounds at Coolcarrigan available for the occasion.

Great fun was had by all and many thanks are due to all those who helped with organising and running the event, including those who helped with refreshments and the face-painting.

A special HELLO goes to the Donadea Bears who were visitors on the day.

Scheme of Community Support for Older People

We shall be completing all the small scale security fittings which have been carried out with the help of funding form the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs and the support of you, the community, within the next fortnight.

Applications can now be made for the next grant scheme so if you or anyone you know would like to avail of funding for socially monitored alarms, security lighting and door and window locks please contact Aileen Saunders at 863517 immediately as applications have to be in by 26th May.

The next meetings of the Timahoe community council will take place on Monday 8th May and Monday 22th May at 8pm in the Bord na Mona offices, Timahoe works. All are welcome to attend

The May Table Quiz will take place on Friday 26th May at 9 p.m. in Kelly’s Bar, Timahoe. Come along, meet your friends and enjoy the craic
