Kynog United V Bush Celtic

Bush Celtic 4 Kynog United 0

On a bright Saturday morning Bush Celtic travelled to Kynog Park to take on the Under 7 Kynog United team. A large crowd of spectators arrived to support both teams.

Right from the kick-off Bush put Kynog under pressure and gained their first score of the game which was nicely taken by Jack Lawlass. Kynog fought back hard but again Bush kept the pressure on and Stephen Rennick hit the back of the Kynog net making 2-0 at half time.

Second half kicked off and the Kynog team put on a brave fight and were unlucky not to put a score on the boad. Bush kept the pressure on at all times never taking their eye off the ball with Stephen Rennick hitting the Kynog net twice to leave the full time score 4 - 0.

The final score didn't relfect the hard work and tremendous effort put in by the Kynog team and they were very unlucky not to score. A great, exciting and very entertaining game from all the young players.

Under 8 Kynog United V Caragh

Kynog Utd 3 - 1 Caragh Celtic.

On a fine morning, Kynog eased to a comfortable win over Caragh. From the kick-off, Kynog were passing the ball around well and created a few half chances but they found Caragh keeper, Pierre Domican, in fine form. It was only a matter of time, however, and when Josh Harris found Ciaran Casey with a clearance, his pass found the unmarked Joshua Lee who finished well. Kynog continued to create chances with Shane O'Connor and Michael Cummins going close but they couldn't find the net.

As the second half started, it looked like Kynog might rue the missed chances as a long clearance eluded everyone expect Cian McCarthy who slid the equaliser home. Kynog roared back and went ahead again through Shane O'Connor and cemented the win through Joshua Lee. They were unlucky not to add more as Justin Reilly struck the bar with a fierce drive Josh Harris scraped the post with his.

Kynog United V Kilcock Celtic

Kynog  United    3
Kilcock Celtic     2

The early stages of this game saw the home side come closest to scoring with Glen Cullen heading against the crossbar following a Shane Merriman corner and some 5 minutes later Conor Staines got on the end of a Donal McGrath through ball only to see his effort come back off the upright. Kilcock responded with a Leon Glennon shot that had to be tipped over the bar by Blaine Treacy and an Ian Mooney strike forced the home keeper to save. Cian Gilligan made a clearance off the line following a corner kick. The injured Conor Staines was replaced by Eamon Cox who went into the heart of the Kynog defence. Kilcock raised their game and were limiting the home team to long range strikes which Elliot Fowler was dealing with comfortably.
The second half saw Adrian Moran open the scoring for the home team with a left footed strike . In the 50th minute the home team doubled their advantage when a Patrick Hudson pass found Donal McGrath whose shot found the corner of the net. To their credit Kilcock came back and reduced the deficit with a Michael Banbury effort. The game was now in the balance and the next goal was going to be crucial. Kynog pushed forward again driven on by Jack Kenny in midfield and he was in the right place to find the back of the net in the 68th minute. Elliot Fowler made a great save to deny Shane Merriman in the 72th minute. Kilcock then scored with a Leon Glennon strike direct from a free kick with five minutes remaining to complete the days scoring.

Under 8 Kynog United v Newbridge

Kynog Utd 3 - 1 Newbridge Town On a bitterly cold morning, both teams served up a cracker of a match at Kynog Park. Kynog were first on the scoreboard as Josh Harris broke from midfield, found Ciaran Casey who in turn found Shane O'Connor who fired home. Kynog's second was scored by the same player, this time set-up by Justin Reilly. Straight from kick-off, Newbridge pulled one back and pressed Kynog hard for an equaliser, only for some fine defending from Sean Hanafey and great save by Justin Reilly to keep Newbridge out. With Newbridge pushing everyone forward, Kynog's Joshua Lee found Shane O'Connor who ran on to score despite the best efforts of the Newbridge keeper to leave Kynog with the win.
