under 10 Kynog United V Newbridge Town

Kynog Utd 6 – 3 Newbridge Town

A great match played in good spirit by both teams. An early goal settled Kynog as Joshua Lee found himself unmarked in the box to drive the ball home. Kynog nearly extended their lead but an excellent save from David Reidy (who had an excellent game in the Newbridge goal) kept out a Josh Harris piledriver. Kynog extended their lead as Ciaran Casey fired home after some excellent build up play from the Kynog midfield to leave the HT score at 2-0.

Into the second half and Newbridge got themselves into the game as Jack Lee Parnell smashed the ball home from a corner. Kynog hit back immediately as the move of the game saw Josh Harris and Joshua Lee combine on the left before firing the ball across goal for the onrushing Shane O’Connor to slide it home, before Lee got his second with a good finish. Kynog were well on top at this point and it took another fine point blank save from David Reidy to deny Josh Harris again. This seemed to give Newbridge heart and the last 10 minute were an even contest as Kynog extended their lead as Justin Reilly scored with a scorcher of a shot, before Scott Howe finished well when found inside the box, before Shane O’Connor scored his second of the day after another excellent move. Newbridge rounded off the scoring as Scott Howe scored with a lovely shot from the edge of the box. It was a credit to both teams that they tried to play football with the ball on the ground and short inter-passing for the entire match.

Under 14 Kynog United V Newbridge

Under 14 Major League

Kynog Utd  1    Newbridge Town   11

Newbridge Town made the visit to a wet Kynog Park and in a very sporting game of football came away with the points with a well deserved win over a young home team

Kynog Utd spurred on by Gerry Melia and Joseph Kenny in midfield were first on the attack winning a corner after three minutes but it was well cleared by Lee Kavanagh and Tom Aspell at the heart of the Newbridge defence. New bridge then won a corner after a great clearance from Eoin Kelly but Dylan Burke was on hand to get the first for Newbridge. Kynog with Craig Synes attacking on the left wing went close before Dylan Burke beat the last defender and scored his second. New bridge were well on top now with Ben Moran at midfield firing just wide and also forcing man of the match for Kynog  Craig Harris in goals into one of his many fine saves for Kynog. Eventually Newbridge got there third when Ben Moran scored,

Kynog Utd now play there best football and Gerry Melia and Adam Montogomery went close before eventually there hard work paid off and they got there first goal of the season with a lovely move involving Gerry Melia to Joe Kenny to Craig Synes who beat the newbridge keeper with a well placed shot. John Drennan and Jack Byrne were holding the defence tight but a series of corners saw Ben Moran get his second with a lovely header to leave it 4-1 at the break

Newbridge came out in the second half determined to finish Kynog off with Ben Moran and Alex Maguire pushing forward however Thomas O Reilly and Brian Elliott for Kynog were well up to the task. As teams tired in the heavy wet conditions and both teams emptied there benches Newbridge began to get well on top with Ben Moran get this third after fifteen minutes and a lovely header for his fourth. Christopher ward then scored and Dylan Burke got his hat- trick to see Newbridge score four goals in a six minute spell and put the match as a contest at an end. Kynog never gave up and Daniel Condon and Ade Teriba battled hard but with no luck. Alex Maguire’s shot was spilled and who else but Dylan Burke was on hand to finish before two late efforts from Christopher ward gave Newbridge a well deserved win. Kynog can take pride in there performance and only for a brief lapse in concentration they would have been a lot closer.

under 17 Kynog United V Moone celtic

KYNOG UNITED 1 MOONE CELTIC 4 The visitors came away with all three points following an emphatic performance in Kynog Park last Saturday afternoon. The opening minutes saw Moone have the majority of possession without creating clear openings. Kynog responded with a Gavin Crowe shot well held by David Byrne in the Moone goal . The home team took the lead when Donal McGrath was bundled over in the penalty area and Blaine Treacy stepped up to give Kynog the lead. A period of pressure was then exerted on the Moone goal as Jason Ryan went close with a header. The game turned in a five minute spell before half time as Daniel Leigh equalised in the 40th minute and following a free kick M J Kane stabbed the ball home to give the visitors the lead going into the break. Kynog were now looking for an equaliser but Moone always looked dangerous on the break. Dale Percival almost equalised but saw his effort go narrowly wide. Eoin Quinlan and Darren Fox were introduced for Kynog while Stephen Byrne moved into midfield. Moone extended their lead in the 65th minute when Mikey Wall finished off a fine move . The visitors were now in control and the days scoring was completed by Emmett O Keeffe in the 80th minute . Best on the day for Moone were Thomas Murphy and Niall Hickey while Kynog were best served by Ciaron Baselmans and Donal McGrath.

First time this season against Prosperous United and they made
Kaleigh
Dwyer work hard in the 1st quarter, despite some fantastic saves from
Kaleigh, Liam Brady managed to score two quick goals followed by a
goal
by Ryan Morran 3 mins later. Despite the hard defending from Cian
Casey, Conor Reilly and Luca Grimes it was 3 nil after the 1st
quarter. Kynog United made Prosperous Work hard for the ball with
Jamie O'Brien, Conor Fox, Jay Dwyer and Adam Condon keeping it down
their end of the field but just couldn't get the goals they needed.
With the 2nd quarter nearly over Oisin Lawlor and Sean O'Connor both
scored leaving it 5 nil. Next quarter Kynog United started to shape
up
with Jamie O'Brien scoring a great goal, then two mins later
Prosperous
scored 2 more goals. Our new comer Jay Dwyer scored a great goal
sticking it the top corner in the last quarter . Plenty of hard work
from Senan Barrret , Cian Casey and Conor Reilly kept Prosperous at
bay
but unfortunately Liam Brady managed to score again with 2 mins left
Ryan scored again for Kynog United. Cian, Senan, Conor Reilly and
Luca
Grimes managed to fight off Prosperous for another while. But
despite
all their hard work Alex and Ryan Morran scored a goal each leaving
the
final score 9 to 3. At the final whistle a great game was had by
all
in Kynog Park.

Kynog opened strongly and it was no surprise when they took the lead through Shane O’Connor. Clane came back strongly and it took an outstanding Aaron Fox save to prevent Clane’s Gary Kelly from equalising. Kynog extended their lead as Ciaran Casey scored with a scorching shot from the edge of the box. Clane reduced the deficit as the ball was forced home from close range. Kynog restored the 2 goal lead as Justin Reilly scored after a great run and Joshua Lee made it 4-1, before Clane made a real fight of it by pulling two goals back. With the game in the balance, Ciaran Casey made the game safe firing home his second and Kynog’s fifth to leave the final score 5-3.

Kynog United 0 – 3 Arlington

2 goals from Tom Kelly and a late goal from Mark Barry separated the two teams after a pulsating and even encounter which saw great saves from both keepers, excellent defending, and some excellent passing football from both teams.
