Kynog United V Prosporous United

First time this season against Prosperous United and they made
Kaleigh Dwyer work hard in the 1st quarter, despite some fantastic saves from
Kaleigh, Liam Brady managed to score two quick goals followed by a
goal by Ryan Morran 3 mins later. Despite the hard defending from Cian
Casey, Conor Reilly and Luca Grimes it was 3 nil after the 1st
quarter. Kynog United made Prosperous Work hard for the ball with
Jamie O'Brien, Conor Fox, Jay Dwyer and Adam Condon keeping it down
their end of the field but just couldn't get the goals they needed.
With the 2nd quarter nearly over Oisin Lawlor and Sean O'Connor both
scored leaving it 5 nil. Next quarter Kynog United started to shape
up with Jamie O'Brien scoring a great goal, then two mins later
Prosperous scored 2 more goals. Our new comer Jay Dwyer scored a great goal
sticking it the top corner in the last quarter . Plenty of hard work
from Senan Barrret , Cian Casey and Conor Reilly kept Prosperous at
bay but unfortunately Liam Brady managed to score again with 2 mins left
Ryan scored again for Kynog United. Cian, Senan, Conor Reilly and
LucaGrimes managed to fight off Prosperous for another while. But
despite all their hard work Alex and Ryan Morran scored a goal each leaving
the final score 9 to 3. At the final whistle a great game was had by
all in Kynog Park.

Kynog United V Kill

For the first seven minutes both teams played a great game in defence
keeping it scoreless. Then Kill got past the defenders and scored a
goal, Kaleigh Dwyer made very good saves in the second half but
despite
her great efforts and the hard work from Luca Grimes and Conor
Reilly,
Kill managed to score in the second and fifth minutes. Kynog United
had a few misses but it wasn't to be. Despite the hard work from
Conor
Fox and Cian Casey Kill scored a great goal in the third quarter
leaving it 4 nil with the last ten minutes of the game to be played.
3
goals for Kill were scored in the first five minutes of the last
quarter, but despite the hard work from Kills defence Conor Reilly
scored a great goal, just before the final whistle blew Kill managed
to
score yet another goal. Leaving the final score 8 goals to 1.

Under 10 Kynog United V Clane Utd

Kynog Utd 5 – 3 Clane Utd

Kynog opened strongly and it was no surprise when they took the lead through Shane O’Connor. Clane came back strongly and it took an outstanding Aaron Fox save to prevent Clane’s Gary Kelly from equalising. Kynog extended their lead as Ciaran Casey scored with a scorching shot from the edge of the box. Clane reduced the deficit as the ball was forced home from close range. Kynog restored the 2 goal lead as Justin Reilly scored after a great run and Joshua Lee made it 4-1, before Clane made a real fight of it by pulling two goals back. With the game in the balance, Ciaran Casey made the game safe firing home his second and Kynog’s fifth to leave the final score 5-3.

Under 17 Kynog United V Kill Celtic

KYNOG UNITED  1
KILL CELTIC       0

A match that was settled by a solitary Jason Ryan strike midway through the first half saw the home team secure their first league win this season. The match began with the midfield area being keenly contested with Adrian Moran prominent. Kill had Alex Curran excelling in the visitors defence. Donal McGrath shot narrowly wide for Kynog while a Gavin Crowe effort just cleared the crossbar. As the match settled down a move down the Kynog right saw Shane Merriman finding Jason Ryan whose strike found the top corner beyond Eddie McSweeney. The visitors were struggling to create opportunities and much credit for that is the way the Kynog defence played on the day with David Hayes at full back putting in a terrific performance. The second half saw Dale Percival strike the crossbar in the 50th minute following a cross from the right. The home team were now beginning to move the ball quickly and create opportunities but a mixture of poor finishing and good goalkeeping by Eddie McSweeney who denied both Martin Baneham and Evan Treacy from increasing the lead. Kill were always dangerous on the break and from set pieces. From a corner Stephen Skelton headed narrowly over. Nicholas Kenny from Kill was having a positive influence on the game from his left full back position. However Kynog finished strongly to record a thoroughly deserved victory.

Under 14 Kynog V Bush

Under 14 Major Division Kynog United 3 Bush Celtic 6 A much improved Kynog United lost out to a strong Bush side in a sunny Kynog Park . With the wind Bush were on top and a corner after 7 minutes went straight to the net . Craig Harris in goals and Eoin Kelly with two goal line clearances were keeping Kynog in it. A penalty saw Bush go two up and a second penaly for Bush hit the post to leave Kynog two down at the break. Bush scored there third straight from the kick off and added two more to go six, one up, Kynoh then play there best football and conor carew passed wide out to Jack Byrne to make it 6-2 and a great burst from the back saw Eoin Kelly win a penalty which he stepped up and blasted home to make it 6-3 and round off a great Kynog performance but it was not enough and Bush deserved there win.

FAI Cup Kynog united V Dalkey United

KYNOG  UNITED     2
DALKEY UNITED     3

Both teams served up a thoroughly entertaining cup tie last Saturday afternoon. The early stages saw Donal McGrath causing problems for the visitors defence with a couple of efforts narrowly missing the target. The Dalkey midfield were well represented by Ben McCauley and De Paor on the right wing. Kynog took the lead in the 15th minute when Donal McGrath fed Gavin Crowe whose strike beat Sam Robinson. Dalkey were retaining the ball well whilst unable to create clear chances as the home defence was being well marshalled by Stephen Byrne and Eoin Quinlan. The visitors almost equalised in the 28th minute following an inswinging corner headed off his own line by Ciaron Baselmans. Dalkey United levelled up matters in the 34th minute when Eoghan McDonnell picked up the ball in midfield and struck a ferocious shot from 25 yards that beat Blaine Treacy and found the back of the net. Kynog responded with a Jason Ryan pass that found Shane Merriman whose cross eluded the onrushing forwards. Half time arrived without further scores. Dalkey started the second period much the stronger with the home team thankful for Blaine Treacy on a couple of occasions making critical saves when the Dalkey forwards looking certain to score. The threat from the visitors continued and they duly took the lead when Johnny Heffernon struck from the edge of the area. To their credit Kynog raised their game and a Jason Ryan effort was well saved by Sam Robinson. The equaliser for Kynog arrived when Martin Baneham controlled a long ball before his shot was well saved only for Donal McGrath to be on hand to fire home the rebound. The game was now very much in the balance with both teams going for the winner. Then in the 82nd minute following a Dalkey corner Marc Wolfe chipped the Kynog keeper and found the roof of the net. Kynog pushed hard for the equaliser but time ran out which sees Dalkey United advance to the next round. A terrific played in good spirit by both teams.
