Kildare Town 1 Kilcock Celtic 3
A good second half from Kilcock saw them take the 3 points in this division 4 game played in excellent conditions in Kildare on Sunday morning last. (See Match Reports for more)
Both teams created chances in the opening period of the game but failed to score.
However it was Kildare who were first off the mark and opened the scoring after 20 minutes.
A free kick was sent into the Kilcock penalty box and the visiting defence failed to deal with the ball and this resulted in a Kildare player hitting a shot to the back of the Kilcock net.
Kildare also created a number of chances to increase their lead before the break but failed to punish Kilcock.
The second half of this game was a different affair altogether.
Kilcock got back on level terms after 50 mins. Good play from David Byrne and Chris O’Meara in the middle of the pitch saw the ball go to Kilcock midfielder Lorcan Fagan who shot hit the back of the Kildare net.
Kilcock went 2-1 up after 70 mins when a Chris O’Meara saw his shot hit the back of the Kildare net after good build-up play from Keith Gill and Lorcan Fagan
Kilcock then went 3 -1 after 85 mins when sub Darren Gavin got onto a ball from centre-half Tom McGovern to make the game safe for Kilcock.
A good win for Kilcock which keeps them in 4th place in division 4 just behind the top 3 teams.
Best for Kilcock were left back Stephen Fitzgerald, midfielder Chris O’Meara and Lorcan Fagan and forward Eoin Morairty.

this was an excellent game to win. Our second half performance showed the type of football we can play.
Hopefully we can go from this and win has many games for the remainder of the season.
