KILCOCK CELTIC 2 BUSH CELTIC 1

KILCOCK CELTIC CONTINUE GOOD START TO THE SEASON. Kilcock won this hard, close and exciting game in Scoil Dara on Sunday morning last. (see full report in Match Reports on the left)

The home side went ahead after three minutes when Shane Harris put a ball through for Keith Gill, whose low power drive hit the back of the visitors net.

However Bush were on level terms after fifteen minutes. The home team failed to clear a loose ball in their box and were punished by the visitors as they reacted quickest to force the ball over the line to grab the equaliser.

Both teams created numerous chances for the remainder of the first period in a very well matched competitive fixture.

The second period continued in similar fashion as both teams battled for superiority. It was Kilcock that got the decisive breakthrough after seventy minutes.
Lorcan Fagan raced up the left flank and crossed into the penalty box. Midfielder Paul Doran rose highest and sent his header beyond the diving keeper to gain the lead for Kilcock.

For the remaining twenty minutes Bush Celtic pushed hard for the equaliser and were unlucky not to be rewarded for their efforts.

Best for Kilcock were Dennis Glesson, Paul Doran, Keith Gill and Shane Harris.

Kilcock Manager Michael Montague spoke to KilcockCeltic.ie after the game and stated that that he enjoyed this game. The teams were evenly matched and it was very competitive. He was delighted that we nicked the game as in previous games like this would probably have ended in a draw. Hopefully we can build on this and continue on the good start to the season. He is now focusing on the next game.
