This is the time to give your hedge its final cut/prune before we move into the colder temperatures and it will maintain its shape better if pruned now.

Get some bird feeders for bird nuts in your local garden center/hardware shop to feed the birds later. Its a fantastic way to entertain your kids in the morning when they can see what birds are feeding in your garden. 'Failte Go Nas' project completed 21st June 2011

The junction of the Dublin road and the blessington road has been given a major face lift with a new sign planted in box hedging  ‘ Failte go Nas’. This along with the clean up that was completed in this area has really brightened up the junction and leaves the area looking very well.

Tidy Towns Handbook 2010

Bio-diversity is an abreviation of bio-logical diversity and describes the total variety of all living things in our community. It includes all plants and animals and the places where they live.  Our goal will be to work with the local council to understand what the local habitats are for animals and plants and develop a bio-diversity plan for Naas that will involve working with the town council, schools and resisdents associations to protect and encourage the establishment of existing and new wildlife habitats and growth of native plants.

We have erected blue tit nesting boxes down by the canal betweeb Abbey bridge and Tandy’s bridge to enhance the current natrual habitat for birds by the canal and hope that these will be noticed by the many families and school nature walk.
