Weekend course dedicated to writing the opening pages of fiction and creative non-fiction
Saturday 10am to 1 pm.
An introduction and exploration of the practice of creative writing paying particular attention to the novel form (fiction and non-fiction). Looking at how and where to begin a novel. Examining the work of established writers to demonstrate what is considered best practice.
Saturday 2pm - 4 pm. An opportunity for the student to write and share, followed by a detailed examination of characterisation.
Sunday 10 am - 1 pm
An overview of the major elements of the craft of writng and what it is you need to do to kick start your writing life.
Morning breaks 11.30 am to 11.45 am (refreshments provivded)
Lunch on Saturday 1 pm - 2pm (also provided)
