Exploring the Ancient Wisdom of Yoga

Long before the world’s other philosophies had been formed, the Vedas of India recognized a path which reconciled the individual with the universality of being. Yoga included posture work, hatha yoga, but the yogas were many and included ways of meditation as well as ethical precepts or disciplines. These disciplines known as the Yama and Niyamas are simple but profound and can be used alongside the rest of the system of yoga to achieve harmony of body, mind and spirit.

This workshop will explore the Ancient Wisdom of the Yamas and Niyamas and will incorporate these concepts into the practice of Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathing) and Meditation.
