The Church of Our Lady of Victories, built in 1792, is one of the oldest churches in Kildare. It provides the most beautiful and appropriate setting for Handel's Messiah, the choral celebration of the life and death of Our Savior, which was first performed in Dublin for a charity event some fifty years earlier, in 1742
