After winning the Perrier Young Jazz Musician of the Year Award in 1999, Zoe Rahman has quickly established herself as one of the brightest stars on the contemporary jazz scene. Her second album, Melting Pot, was nominated in 2006 for the Mercury Music Prize. More recently, she achieved an achingly beautiful fusion of jazz, classical and Bengali music in her highly-acclaimed album Where Rivers Meet, which featured arrangements of Nobel prize-winner Rabindranath Tagore's music.

Rahman's willingness to push musical boundaries is matched by her technical brilliance. Noted for her inventiveness, explosive two-fisted technique, and the tumbling cascades of notes she often trades with her brother, the honey-toned clarinetist Idris Rahman, this mesmerising pianist is aided and abetted by a top-notch rhythm section featuring American drummer Gene Calderazzo and British bass player Oli Hayhurst.

In the words of jazz reviewer Chris Parker, brace yourself for "all the punch, pith and sheer verve of the Rahman live act".
