MAYNOOTH FILM FOR ALL: FILM CLUB 2010/2011

Irish film The Pipe, which was the winner of the best documentary award at 2010 Galway Film Fleadh, is Maynooth Film for All’s next screening on Wednesday 2nd February at 8.00pm in The New Lecture Theatre, Iontas Building, NUI Maynooth. Q&A with the film’s director Rachel Lysaght will follow.

The film was released in selected cinemas on December 3rd and has also just been nominated for an Irish Film and Television Award in the Best Feature Documentary category.

*Date for your Diary* As part of Dublin International Film Festival 2011 (JDIFF)the club will screen Good Cake, Bad Cake on Wednesday 23rd February

After U2 conquered the world in the mid 80’s, music executives descended on Dublin in search of the next big thing. A band called Lir was anointed as U2’s most likely successors. Irish filmmaker Shimmy Marcus (Soulboy, Headrush) charts the bands highs and lows in this documentary, which will receive its world premiere at the festival.
