The Kildare County Development Board is a body set up in March 2000 to bring together all the main agencies and interests involved in the development of Kildare and to allow them to co-operate in providing their services.
The first task of the County Development Board is to draw up a strategy for the Economic, Social and Cultural Development of the County over the next 10 years.
The County Strategy will provide the framework for co-operation between these bodies and interests.
The process of drawing up the strategy will result in a 'Shared Vision' for the county and will allow areas to plan for the future in an integrated way covering public services delivered locally.
The Board operates in a spirit of partnership with decisions being made by consensus.
