Pay your Traffic Fines

How you use your payment card online is changing from 1st January, 2021

Here at Kildare County Council, you will notice some changes when using your payment card on our website.

You will be asked to provide additional verification to confirm it’s really you using your card. This is an extra layer of security called Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) and is being rolled out in order to keep your card safe and secure, in accordance with the EU Payments Services Directive 2 (PSD2).

SCA requires banks to check that payments are being made by the correct cardholder and not a fraudster, by asking customers for additional methods of identification such as; cardholder address/mobile number/email address.

We have been asked by your bank to facilitate these security checks. If you experience any difficulties while authorising your payment to us, please contact you own bank as you may need to update your cardholder address/mobile number/email address on their records.

This system is provided to the public as part of Kildare County Council's commitment to providing quality and timely customer oriented services.  This system allows parking tickets to be paid electronically through a secure online form by Credit Card or Laser Card.

How to use this service

If you wish to pay your parking ticket click here "Pay Traffic Fines".  Then enter your Parking Ticket Number without the KD prefix (1234567) and Vehicle Registration Number without dashes or spaces (Example: Reg No. 08KE123) into the boxes provided.  

The systems will then search for your ticket and return the details of this ticket to you.  Please confirm that these details are correct and proceed to the next stage of the payment process.  Please note that tickets issued will not be available for payment using this service until the next working day following issue.

Help Using This Service

What do I need to use to use this service?

  • You will need your Parking Ticket Number which is the 7 digit number on your Parking Ticket beginning with the prefix "KD". 
  • You will need your Vehicle Registration Number (which should be entered without dashes or spaces). 
  • You will need a valid Visa/Debit, Credit Card

What about privacy and security?

All financial transactions are processed by Realex, a third party Internet financial service which provides a secure environment to protect your transactions.  Your credit/debit card information is not transmitted outside the secure site.
