<p>&nbsp;<strong>Alternative routes:&nbsp; </strong>Traffic travelling north from Carlow towards Athy on the R417 (Carlow/Monasterevan road) will be diverted at Maganey Crossroads (The Three Counties). Diversions will be via the L4009 into Castledermot and onwards to Athy via the Athy/Castledermot road R418/N9. Traffic travelling south from Athy to Carlow will be diverted onto the Athy/Castledermot road R418/N9 to Castledermot and via the N9 to Carlow</p>

Diversions will be via Hobartstown (on the N9) and run to Kilkea where traffic may rejoin the R418 Athy/Castledermot road to Athy. Traffic travelling south from Athy to Castledermot will be diverted at Kilkea towards Hobartstown (on the N9) and then southward to Castledermot.</p>

The closures are required to facilitate the Tri-Athy Triathlon 2013. Adequate signage will be in place as agreed with the Council and An Garda S&iacute;och&aacute;na. <title><![CDATA[Part 8 Cycle path Canal Harbour, Maynooth]]></title>

<p align="center"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p align="center"><strong>Proposed Development of a Shared Pedestrian and Cycle Greenway Facility</strong></p>
<p align="center"><strong>Canal Harbour, Maynooth to the Kildare / Meath Boarder</strong></p>
<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong>Pursuant to the requirement of the above legislation, notice is hereby given of the proposed construction of circa.16km of a shared pedestrian and cycle greenway facility along the towpath and lands adjacent to the Royal Canal from the Canal Harbour in the town of Maynooth to the Kildare/Meath border in the townland of Moyvalley. The proposed development, which is the subject of this Part 8, will include the following:</p>
<p>&nbsp;a)&nbsp; improvements to the existing towpath along the Royal Canal by providing a 3m wide cycleway and shared footway where available with a suitable surface&nbsp; i.e. quarry dust, surface dressing or bituminous bound surfacing depending on local conditions for pedestrian and cyclist use;</p>
<p>&nbsp;b) provision of access controls (pedestrian/cycle friendly gates), road markings, traffic calming, kerbing and implementation of one-way traffic yield system and associated signage at:</p>
<p>&nbsp;1)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Kilmore Bridge (L-1000-0) which is included in the Record of Protected Structures</p>
<p>&nbsp;c) 2 no.150mm duct along the full length of the greenway facility;</p>
<p>&nbsp;d) provision of a toucan crossing at Shaw Bridge (R125) in Kilcock and a toucan crossing on the Harbour Street (R148) in Kilcock on approach to ShawBridge.</p>
<p>&nbsp;e) provision of shared cycleway and footway adjacent to the R148 in Kilcock with associated works including high containment kerb, road markings, reduction in existing carriageway width to approximately 6.0m of the R148 Maynooth Road for a length of approximately 600 to 800m.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;f) provision of 4m wide underpass at Moyvalley to provide a safe route for cyclists and pedestrians under the R148. The length of the proposed underpass is approximately 16m.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;g) provision of a 3m wide underpass behind BaileysBridge abutment to provide a passage for cyclists and pedestrians.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;The development will be located adjacent to the Royal Canal and at the above bridges/aqueducts etc.</p>
<p>&nbsp;The development has been the subject of an Appropriate Assessment screening in accordance with Article 6(3) of the EU Habitats Directive (Directive 92/43/EEC) and the Planning and Development Acts 2000- 2012.</p>

<p>Notice is hereby given that the Members of Kildare County Council, having considered the Draft Maynooth Local Area Plan and the Manager&rsquo;s Report thereon in accordance with Section 20 of the Planning and Development Acts 2000-2011, have resolved that the Draft Local Area Plan be amended. The proposed amendments constitute a material alteration of the Draft Maynooth Local Area Plan 2013-2019.&nbsp;</p>
<p>In accordance with Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, Article 14 of the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004-2011, and Article 6 of the EU Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC), Kildare County Council, having carried out screenings of the proposed amendments, has determined that Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Appropriate Assessment (AA) are not required in respect of the proposed alterations.</p>
<p>Copies of the proposed amendments, SEA Screening Reports and AA Screening Reports on the proposed alterations, may be inspected at the locations listed below during the period of 4 weeks from <strong>Wednesday 15 May 2013 to Tuesday 11 June 2013 inclusive</strong>:</p>

<p align="center"><strong>Proposed Salt Barn at Machinery Yard, Newbridge, Co. Kildare</strong></p>
<p>Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given that Kildare County Council proposes the construction of a salt barn at Machinery Yard, &nbsp;Newbridge, CountyKildare.</p>
<p>This scheme will provide appropriate storage for salt in the south of the County for the purpose of salting roads in severe weather conditions.&nbsp; It will involve the construction of a barn of steel/concrete construction with a storage capacity of 1,331 tonnes. A concrete apron outside the salt barn will provide additional space for the storage of associated machinery and equipment. The overall size will be 16 metres long by 24 metres wide by 7.9 metres high at ridge level (including salt barn and covered storage areas). A concrete wash down area with all necessary drainage works shall also be completed as part of these works.</p>
<p>In accordance with S.I. 476, 2011 Section 250, Planning and Development (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2011 Kildare County Council has determined that an Appropriate Assessment is not required.</p>

<p align="center"><strong>NOTICE OF INTENTION</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;Kildare County Council gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 that it intends to close the following road:</p>
<p>The regional road between CarburyVillage (on the R402) and the Broadford Road Junction (on the R402) from Monday 10 June until Friday 19 July 2013</p>
<p>The closure is necessary to facilitate construction works for the R402 Enfield to Edenderry Improvement Scheme.</p>
<p>Alternative routes:&nbsp;&nbsp; Diversions will be in place and motorists travelling eastbound from Derrinturn Road Junction with R402 are asked to follow diversion routes via newly constructed R402 mainline between new roundabout at CarburyVillage rejoining old R402 east of Broadford Road Junction. Motorists travelling westbound on the R402 are asked to follow diversion routes via newly constructed R402 mainline between temporary junction on old R-402 and rejoining old R402 at new roundabout at Carbury Village.Diversionary Routes, which will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda S&iacute;och&aacute;na, will be in place for the duration of the works. Local and Emergency access will be maintained at all times.</p>
<p>Objections/observations may be made in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Roads, Transport and Public Safety Level 4, at the address below on or before 5.00 p.m. &nbsp;Tuesday 21 May 2013.</p>

<p>Kildare County Council wishes to inform the public that, due to unforeseen circumstances, it is necessary to extend the temporary road closure in place at:</p>
<p><strong>The Boston (Bishopscourt Lower) Road, Kill from Friday 10 May until Friday 31 May 2013</strong>.</p>
<p>The closure is required to facilitate works related to the Castlewarden &ndash; Ballygoran Pipeline and Reservoir Scheme.</p>
<p><strong>Alternative Route:</strong> Traffic will be diverted via the Oughterard and Tuckmilltown Road and vice versa. Diversionary routes, which will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the council and An Garda S&iacute;och&aacute;na, will be in place for the duration of the works. Local and emergency access will be allowed at all times. Any inconvenience caused is regretted.</p>]]></description>
