Combined Vehicle Base Workshop (CVBW)  
Currently Vehicle Base Workshops is comprised of the amalgamation of the former Command Vehicle Workshops Company and the fitter section of Depot Cavalry.
The unit has its major workshops facility in Connolly/Plunkett Barracks with a smaller service workshops in the main transport yard of the DFTC.


Service Workshops
The Service workshops are responsible for the service and inspection of the entire transport fleet of the DFTC.  The number of vehicles located within the DFTC is currently approximately 300 vehicles

Combined Workshops
The combines workshops operates from a newly constructed workshops which is in operation since April 2003.  All major repairs of Defence Forces soft-skin and amoured vehicles is undertaken in this facility which is manned by both military and civilian mechanics and technicians.


In addition the
CVBW is tasked with the recovery of all the different types of vehicles in the Defence Forces fleet. This can range from a motorcycle up to a DROPS or armoured vehicle. 

Technical Stores
The workshops is assisted in its task by the Technical stores which supplies parts for the servicing and repair of all vehicles in the Defence Forces at home and abroad.
