- The United Nations Training School
Ireland (UNTSI)
- UNTSI (United Nations Training
School Ireland) The establishment of a UN Training School was a
natural consequence of our involvement with peacekeeping
activities and UN Operations in particular. Defence Forces
Personnel have completed 52,000 tours of duty suffering 84
casualties, 36 as a result of hostile action. The School was
established, as a constituent school of The Military College in
1993 and opened its doors in its new building in May 1995
UNTSI's primary focus is on the
training and preparation of Irish Defence Forces personnel for
participation in a wide range of Peace Support Operations. (PSO).
We are very conscious of the changing nature and ever widening
implications of modern PSOs.
It therefore developes
studies and relationships with peace support schools of other
nations , international humanitarian organisations and
agencies, NGO's and academic bodies and foundations.
