COURSE TITLE: TRAINEE GREENKEEPERS

Green MaintenanceDURATION: 48 weeks

COURSE AIM: To provide participants with the necessary skills to enable them to secure employment as Greenkeepers.

COURSE CONTENT:
Induction
Safety and Hygiene
Grass Machinery Maintenance and Driving
Sports Turf Management
Safe Use of Herbicides and Pesticides
Care and Maintenance of Shurbs, Trees and Flowers
Layout and Development of Greens

TRAINING METHOD: 48 weeks of formal training with a heavy reliance on "hands-on" practical training coupled with related subjects. The instruction will contain lectures, discussions, practical exercises, project work, individual assignments and assessments.

Grass Machinery Maintenance and DrivingPARTICIPANT PROFILE: Unemployed people with an interest in learning new skills, engaging in practical projects and working as a team member.
