Kildare, one of Ireland’s oldest towns, is hosting a family fun day providing an exciting experience of Medieval Life.

The Family Fun day starts at 12.30 and continues until 6pm.

The Festival will include: 

  • Fire juggling
  • Archery
  • Story telling
  • Street Theatre (with Silken Thomas Players)
  • Food craft 
  • Falconry
  • Mini Walking Tours 
  • Small Re-enactments
  • Organ playing 
  • and will finish with a beautiful concert in St Brigid’s Cathedral, 
  • and more.
There are 3 linked venues:

Kildare Town Park: Archery, Battle Re-enactments, Craft Demonstrations

St Brigid's Cathedral: Guided tours at 2pm & 3pm; Organ recitals at 2.30pm & 3.30pm; Falconry, Storytelling, Concert at 5pm

Top Nolan's Carpark: Craft & Food Market

Getting to the Event & Car Parking:

There is very limited car-parking in Kildare Town Centre so we are encouraging people to leave their car at home, use public transport or walk (if you are local)to get to the event.

For Visitors to Kildare Retail Village  please note that the Town centre is a short walk approx. 5 to 7 minutes away across the Boardwalk. From Tesco’s it five minute walk to the festival.

There are a number of small car parking areas

1) Market Square, 50+ spaces + 2) St Brigid Square & Church & On street parking ( Approx 50 spaces, 3)Behind Cunningham’s Pub on Claregate Street this can be accessed from St Brigid,s square also 50+ spaces) 4) St Brigids Primary School beside the Credit union 60 Spaces 5) Underground car-park -CleLands supermarket (30+ spaces) 6) in front of J J Mahons Distribution Centre Dublin Road 20+ Spaces

7)  A car Park at the Railway Station (€4 cost for the day. approx. 220 spaces)
