Since its inception in 2010, the festival audiences have continued to grow, and this year, the sixth, the Kildare Library and Arts Service will represent anentertaining schedule as equally exciting as in previous years.

We are thrilled to introduce our Writer-In-Residence, Eoin McNamee [in partnership with Maynooth University] and our very special guest, Patrick McCabe.

With regular favourites such as Ten Books You Should Read, which this year features John Lonergan and Nell McCafferty, we will also be continuing our most popular Sunday Morning Sessions with special guests Joseph O'Connor, Nuala O'Connor and our festival stalwart, Dermot Bolger. This year, we are also very excited to present Things that go bump in the night...and why we love them, with highly acclaimed gothic novel author and critic, Kim Newman and Maura McHugh.

Our Historian-In-Residence, James Durney, will interview Tomi Reichental, survivor of Belsen Concentration Camp and our event, Wild Hibernia, with Peter Murphy and guests, Mike McCormack and Louise O'Neill, will discuss the current rise of exciting literature that is somewhat different than the norm. On Saturday night, we will present a tribute to W.B.Yeats, A Life and Death Less Ordinary, with Kildare author, Mary O'Donnell facilitating a magical evening of chat and readings.

Also, keep an eye out for our fabulous schedule of Fringe Events, which include Dennis O'Driscoll tribute, Honouring Voices: Adapting Hanna Greally’s Bird Nest Soup for stage, Alternative Routes to Publishing, Ceol Binn na Filíochta and our annual Artists Notebook Exhibition.

There will be a festival bookshop throughout the weekend, hosted by our festival partners IES [International Educational Services].
