THE MOTOR RACE.
In connection with this event the following resolution was passed unanimously:-“That we hereby protest against and object in the strongest manner to remarks appearing recently in the organ of the motoring club of Great Britain, re Irish historic ruins and matters of National interest. And we would remind those writers who comment so glibly and so thoughtlessly on a civilisation superior to their own, that the Irish nation[sic] will not submit to have the memory of her illustrious dead subjected to the ridicule of the Saxon and the foreigner.”
