The OPW team at Castletown are delighted to welcome L.A based composer Patrick Cassidy and the Blessington Millennium Choir to perform 'The Children of Lir' in the Long Gallery at Castletown on Saturday 1st April, 2017, at 7pm.

This is the first major symphonic work written in the Irish language; a series of 12 songs, which was something of a sensation when premiered back in 1995 by the London Symphony Orchestra and Choir. Such was its impact that the BBC subsequently produced a documentary on it.

This performance by the Blessington Millennium Choir is scored for Pipe Organ, Harps, Uilleann Pipes and Timpani and we're thrilled to have its composer in attendance.

Tickets €27.50; Includes booking fee with a complimentary glass of white wine, water or soft drink during the interval.

Tickets available now from Eventbrite, Click Here

Unreserved seating. Doors open at 6.30pm with latecomers admitted after the interval.

Parking available up at the house for this evening event, with access from Exit 6, M4, Celbridge West.
