Josephine Hardiman was born March 10, 1953 in
Cushendall Co. Antrim, a seaside town nestling at the base of the
Antrim Hills.
As a child her family moved South to County Kildare and she spent
her formative years in the Liffey Valley town of Newbridge.
Having completed her teacher training Josephine taught in St Conleth's
Primary School, Newbridge from 1972 to 1989 at which time she took
the decision to concentrate fully on her Art and more especially her
particular interest Calligraphy.
She built a studio onto her home in Naas, Co. Kildare for her own
use and to assist with her teaching.
At her studio Josephine has held many Art & Craft Workshops for Children
and Adults and has held summer in-career Development course for Primary
School teachers in Calligraphy drawing and painting.
She is constantly sought out by interested painters groups and individuals
to host courses in Calligraphy, Painting and Drawing techniques.
"I love to draw and paint the flora and fauna, the landscapes
in all seasons, historical and archaeological sites and buildings
of Ireland, and to visually enhance the written word of the poets
and writers combining my skills in creating something original and
unique for individual commissions and personalised gifts"
