Apr 28th 2015: Inter-County Leinster Relays

[From Kildare County Board]

Leinster Athletics have confirmed that they will again be running inter-county relays this year as part of their T&F championships. The dates are as follows -

U11 and U13 - Sat 6th June in Tullamore (with the U9 - U13 Leinster T&F competition)

U15, U17, U19 - Sat 20th June in Tullamore (with the U14 - U19 Leinster T&F competition)

As only the odd ages are used for the inter-county relays, and the even ages can move up an age to compete in this competition, the County T&F results cannot be used to determine the teams.

Therefore, 100m trials will be held in Le Cheile AC on Sunday 10th May to select the Kildare teams. The process will be simple and the fairest possible - first 4 in the trial will be the team running for Kildare, 5th and 6th will be the subs. The trials will commence immediately after the Senior T&F competition being held in Le Cheile that day. The final senior event is scheduled to start at 1.55pm that day so I'd expect the first relay trial to commence about 10-15 mins after that. However, the 1.55pm time is only provisional so allow plenty of time.

The order will be youngest and girls first - U11G, U11B, U13G, U13B etc. If heats and finals are necessary then the finals will run after all ages have ran.

Apr 27th 2015: County Track and Field Championships

The first day of the county juvenile track and field championships take place this coming Sunday in Celbridge. Field events are limited to 3 per club so trials will take place tomorrow evening for those events where we have more than 3 athletes interested in participating.
