‌Kildare Sports Partnership announce new Sports Inclusion Disability Officer

Kildare Sports Partnership work to increase and promote physical activity throughout county Kildare. The new Sports Inclusion Disability will work with community groups, disability services and national governing of sport to increase opportunities for people with a disability to engage in regular physical activity.

Coordinator of Kildare Sports Partnership Syl Merrins spoke at the recent announcement “We are delighted to announce the arrival of Pádraig Healy as Sports Inclusion Disability Officer for the County. Pádraig comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience, having spent the last four years in a similar role with Cork Sports Partnership, and he will continue to build on the work done by KSP to increase participation in sport and physical activity in the disability sector.’’    

The new Sports Inclusion Disability Officer Pádraig Healy spoke of his delight to be joining the Kildare Sports Partnership “I am very excited about collaborating with clubs, services, schools and community groups in Kildare to grow the Kildare Sports Ability programme. At present there are some wonderful programmes being run by fantastic volunteers throughout the county including Football For All, Adapted Tag Rugby and Special Olympic clubs to name just a few. The people of Kildare are passionate about sport and I know that with the right support we can have physical activity opportunities for adults and children of all abilities in every corner of the county.”
