Jobs boost for Athy

ATHY 01 March 2003: Three hundred and fifty jobs have been promised for Athy, in a boost to a town which feels it has been overlooked by industry for decades.

Irish distribution firm Rowan Transport is to move from its current HQ in the Netherlands to the new Gateway Business Park, while Austrian house-maker Elk Fertighaus Aktiengesellschaft will provide 250 semi-skilled jobs from June in the same location.

The Gateway Business Park is being developed by Goldman Securities, whose chairman Paddy White said the two first clients are 'prestigious and valuable'.
