Bealtaine Festival outlined

09 April 2003: The annual Bealtaine Festival in Newbridge kicks off on Wednesday 30 April with 'Passages of Time', an hour of storytelling by the Crooked Sixpence group in the Newbridge Day Care Centre.

Other events which carry the event through the May Bank Holiday weekend include the Baby Doll Project in the Riverbank Theatre, Red Hot Music in the Red House, appearances by Murray & Begley and The Moon and Sixpence, Comedy Zone with Kevin McAleer, and a Singer/Song Writer Night.

There will also be street artists, a Holistic Workshop, Art Trail, Soccer 5-a-side, Eat on the Street food, a Book Fair, story tellers, and a benefit gig for Monoglian Buddist School

Other attractions will include Indian Head Massage, Aromatherapy, Aura Soma, Massage, Healing and Body Harmony. Workshops on Angels, Dream Analysis. Aura Photography. Stands with Crystals, music, and books.

Kildare Youth Services will premiere their film "Skitso", a short Docu-Drama made by the Young Men’s Youth group. The film will be followed by a concert with Jerry Fish and the Mudbug Club.

Mae Leonard will entertain with selected readings from her Radio One 'Sunday Miscellany' contributions. The Herbert Lodge Ensemble will play a selection of classical favourites on a special lunchtime event.

The Irish Defence Forces parachute display team will have four members jumping from their helicopter.

An Eagles Tribute band will belt out tunes of a generation, with the support of the excellent group 'Atlantis'.
